According to this year’s list, the topic for December is Joy.
Last month I asked everyone present to bring a bit of Joy to share at the December meeting. It can be anything – a picture, a poem, a short reading, a story.
I found a poem on the UUA website that expresses a lot of my own feeling about joy:
You can prepare
but still
it will come to you
by surprise
crossing through your doorway
calling your name in greeting…
it will astonish you
how wide your heart
will open
in welcome
for the joy
that finds you
so ready
and still so
unprepared.
