As a young couple from war-torn South Sudan seeks asylum and a fresh start in England, they’re tormented by a sinister force living in their new home. The film has much to say about grief, guilt, assimilation, and the ongoing refugee crisis. And on top of all that, it’s also a nifty nerve-jangler. His House is a terrifying debut that breathes a fresh voice into the haunted-house subgenre.
