Risking his family and future, a baker in occupied Amsterdam slows the Nazi war machine by creating an underground bank to fund the resistance. This is a compelling war story, not about soldiers on the war front but about family men on the home front. Two brothers who are bankers and their associates devise a creative scheme to raise funds for the Dutch resistance movement against their German occupiers. The story focuses on Wally van Hall who leads the effort with the help of his brother who has his own doubts about the plan, and fears of reprisal.
