Uniting East and West
In a Call for Nuclear Disarmament
Join us in a East meets West program to discover
MLK’s connection with Japan and his call
for a world free of Nuclear Weapons.
Learn about MLK’s scheduled trip to Japan in August of 1968
which sadly was not fulfilled due to his assassination
4 months earlier in addition to key figures in Japan
who have paid tribute to his legacy.
The program will highlight a world peace flag ceremony
with a quote from MLK to open the prayers
for each continent of the world for peace to prevail on earth
followed by the Global Silent minute offered by Dot Maver
and a prayer offering from our Japanese community in Hiroshima.
Come and honor our guest speakers Hon. Barbara E. Talley,
founder of the Martin Luther King Jr. Task Force and
Mother of civil rights of Southfield, Michigan
and Fairy Glenn, president,
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Task Force.
We close the MLK – Ali 40 Days of Peace and Greatness
with this program offering.
May Peace Prevail On Earth
