To date, the goals of the Healing Justice group are education and advocacy for those who experience injustices. We do outreach activities to both the UUFBR congregation and our community to help create justice that heals, thus our name, Healing Justice.
We continue to be with one another in virtual community at UUFBR. No longer do we meet in person. Now we come together via ZOOM. To see what we can accomplish in our restructured Covid-19 reality. What are we about? Our Mission is to continue to:
How can we accomplish these aims?
Please join us in our activities. Watch for more information about us in the Unicorn and Chalice Notes.

The Mystics and Metaphysics group gathers the second Sunday of the month at 6:30 pm to deepen and nurture individual spiritual quests through conversation and shared reflection.
In this time of physical distancing, this spiritual quest is hosted by Rev. Harris by ZOOM Session. We have decided to forgo the potluck dinner that was an important part of this sharing experience since its inception. We continue the deep sharing with conversation by joining in a ZOOM session at 6:30 PM. The monthly topics are set by the group members in September and are sent in the reminder invitation during the week before the 2nd Sunday of each month by the group coordinator, Mary Wikensheimer. You can join the group by requesting an invitation from Mary: plumbago@bellsouth.net
(The UUFBR Book Club meets monthly on the 3rd Wednesday at 7:00 PM in the UUFBR via ZOOM session. Read and talk about books of interest to the group. Fun and enlightening book discussions.)

Healing Justice invites you to three upcoming events
Palm Beach Pride – We invite you to attend this event with us on Saturday, March 29th. The event is A LOT of fun and we plan to wear out UUFBR T-shirts to help spread the word about our Welcoming congregation. The event runs from 12:00 – 6:00 pm. More details to come.
On Thursday, April 3rd at 7:00 pm we’ll show the film Gratitude Revealed, the featured film of Faith Climate Action Week 2025. The film aligns with this year’s theme: “Communal Gratitude: Coming Together to Steward Sacred Earth.” Faith Climate Action Week is sponsored by Interfaith Power and Light, a Religious Response to Global Warming. The film is not available for home viewing yet, but is available to congregations during the month of April. Watch the trailer and I guarantee you won’t want to miss this!!!
On Sunday, May 18th at 12:00 pm, following the service, a speaker from EMA, Emergency Medical Assistance, will give a 30 minute talk about the current state of reproductive health care in Florida, followed by Q&A. EMA was founded in 1975 and is today the only abortion fund in Palm Beach County that assists people financially with pregnancy termination. EMA feels very strongly that every person should have access to safe, legal abortion care and that this access should not depend on someone’s zip code or bank account. Watch the eblasts for a new program coming soon with Rev. Edith – Read & Reflect. We’ll read short essays on justice issues and then discuss (no homework – just show up and we’ll read
together )
